Nationwide Tour Championship: Crunch time for Mathias

Mathias sits in 22nd place going into the Nationwide Tour final at Daniel Island. The top-25 players on the Nationwide Tour rankings secure the PGA TOUR card for 2010.

The top-60 players has made it into the final event and there will be not Friday cut line.

Mathias needs a solid finish to be sure to get the card for next year, but he feels positive heading into the final event.

"I have not played great tee to green lately, but earlier in the week I visited my swing coach Phil Ritson. Phil instantly saw some issues in my swing and fixed it. Now I feel great and look forward to teeing up on Thursday" Mathias told website staff on Tuesday.

Mini biography

He turned pro in December 1990 after having completed an impressive amateur career. Mathias enrolled into a Swedish golf academy at age 15 and quickly gained a spot on the Swedish Junior National Team. In 1988 he won the Swedish Boys Championship. He won the prestigious British Youth Championship at Southerness in 1990. During the same year Mathias contributed to the Swedish victory of the Eisenhower Trophy.
