Nationwide Tour Championship: On the right path
Mathias got off to a solid start at the Nationwide Tour final. He shot a first round 69 (-3) and is currently T6th.He started the day with a bogey but worked his way back into the round. On the back nine holes Mathias made birdies on hole 11,15 and 18.
In the past weeks Mathias has struggled Tee to Green, that was not the question on Thursday. He hit 83 % of the greens in regulation which was the best of all players in the first round.
The starting tee times will each round be based on the current position on the leaderboard, which means Mathias will tee off in the early afternoon.

He turned pro in December 1990 after having completed an impressive amateur career. Mathias enrolled into a Swedish golf academy at age 15 and quickly gained a spot on the Swedish Junior National Team. In 1988 he won the Swedish Boys Championship. He won the prestigious British Youth Championship at Southerness in 1990. During the same year Mathias contributed to the Swedish victory of the Eisenhower Trophy.Read more about Mathias
