Mathias came close to capturing his first PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the Reno-Tahoe Open. Mathias finished T3rd, only two shots behing Matt Bettencourt. This was Mathias best finish of the season and it was also his first top-10 in 2010. "I am of course happy with the result, but I made a few mistakes today. Overall I am dissapointed with not making birdies on the par-5. I hit great tee shots on all of them today but was not able to place the approach shots in the correct place" Mathias said after the round.
Mathias moved from 170 to 160 on the FEDEX CUP rankings and he jumped 29 spots on the money rankings to 158th place.
"I changed putter and putting stance this week. The new Seemore putter really made a big change and I felt like I could hole almost every putt. I can´t wait to tee off next week again" Mathias continued.
Next week Mathias heads to the RBC Canadian Open, Ontario, Canada.
