Reno-Tahoe Open

Most of the attention in the golf world this week will be on the Open Championship, but at the same time the PGA TOUR will host the Reno-Tahoe Open. Mathias failed to qualify for the Major and will instead compete in the Reno-Tahoe event.

Mathias is looking for his first top-10 this year and hopefully it will come this week. He has not been able to play solid golf this year, but he remains very positive and believes good things are to come.

"I try and play good golf every week, but it has been a tough year and I have failed to post 4 straight low rounds on the PGA TOUR. Basically all I can do is work hard on my game and sooner or later things will fall into place" Mathias said on Tuesday.

The event in Reno-Tahoe will have a very strong field, despite many of the world top players are competing in the Major. Many players who have had a tough year will try and improve their rankings this week, Mathias being one of them.
