Mathias returns to PGA TOUR action as the Texas Valero Open starts today. Mathias has had good success in the past in Texas and hopefully he can continue to play well there. Last year he finished T11th and in 2007 he ended up T3rd."I don´t know why, but I have always played solid golf in the Texas state. It should be a very interesting week and I look forward to playing well early in the week "Mathias told website staff on Wednesday.
This year the event has moved to the TPC San Antonio´s AT&T Oaks Course. The new course can stretch to 7,500 yards and includes three par 5s measuring more than 600 yars. So this week will naturally benefit the longer hitters.
Mathias will tee off in the afternoon at 1:30 PM, paired with Vaughn Taylor and Marco Dawson.
